Hospital “Danilo I” was erected by prince Nikola I in 1873. It was projected by Dr Frilley. The hospital started working in 1875, and first patients were injured during insurrection in Herzegovina. The hospital was reconstructed in 1912. The new building was built in 1964. Today, the hospital is housed in that building.
Health institution Danilo I Cetinje is second level health protection service. It accomplishes hospital and specialist-consultative activities, and improves health through ambulant and laboratory units, according to the law and inaugural acts.
The hospital has the following departments: for treatment of intern diseases, intensive care, otology with cabinet e for audiology and sub department for ophthalmology, department for gynecology and obstetrics, department for treatment of children diseases with specific care and diagnostic cabinet for radiology, transfusiology, endoscopy, biochemistry laboratory. There are 110 beds on six departments. 160 employees take care about patients (30 doctors, 84 nurses and 46 non-medical personnel).
Recently, department for human reproduction (artificial insemination) has been established.
Health care center is located next to the hospital Danilo I. It has service for basic protection with fieldwork ambulances, clinic for work medicine, clinic for lungs diseases and tuberculosis, clinic for health protection of women, service of house treatment, polyvalent community health service, clinic for health protection of children, clinic for urgent medical help, Service for dermatological protection, service for laboratory diagnostic, RTG service, service for microbiology and parasitology, service for sanitary chemistry, clinic for mental health and specialized ambulates (internist, orthopedic, urology, ophthalmology and ORL). |
